Elderberry Syrup

Elderberry syrup has been used for generations as a seasonal wellness staple, especially during the fall and winter months. Many families (including ours!) love incorporating elderberries and warming spices into their routine because of their naturally nourishing properties.

Elderberries are naturally high in vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin B6, iron and postassium, among several other essential nutrients. They may provide cold and flu relief due to its powerful immune-boosting properties.

Elderberries are packed with anthocyanins—the deep purple pigments also found in blueberries and blackberries. These antioxidants help protect cells from everyday oxidative stress. Elderberries also contain flavonoids and polyphenols which may support the body’s natural inflammatory response.

Unlike many wellness supplements, elderberry syrup is naturally delicious. With honey and warming spices, it becomes a cozy, comforting ingredient that can be taken by the spoonful or enjoyed in smoothies, yogurt, tea, oatmeal or even gummies (recipe below)!

Elderberry syrup isn’t meant to diagnose, treat, or cure illness, but many people enjoy it as part of a holistic lifestyle focused on nourishment, prevention, and strengthening the body gently over time.
